IN GENERAL

Tinos is the third largest island of the Cyclades. Visitors will not get bored whatever group they belong to. For those who want peace and quite as well as relaxation and those who want action and entertainment. Tinos has a lot to offer. It has numerous sandy or pebbly beaches organized or not. There is an interchange of greenery and dry land, areas of geological interest like Volax, Livada etc, picturesque dovecots and countless chapels. There are also villages with whitewashed houses with warm and hospitable in habitants. It is the birthplace of many important Greek painters and sculptors. Among the most notable names are Gizis, Halepas, Filippotis etc. The island which continues to charm, making the visitor a friend and many times a permanent resident, as modern artists, journalists and ordinary people have built their country house.

KIONIA

Kionia is located 2,5 kilometers from the centre of Tinos. A beautiful beach with taverns, restaurants and cafes. The principal religious cult on Tinos is that of Poseidon, remains of whose temple where he was worshipped with Amphitrite have survived at Kionia. For those who like hiking there is a trail which leads to the villages Ktikados, Hatzirados etc. There are nearby beaches such as Stavros, Agios Markos, and Platia Ammos.
